Should the Obama Administration invest in clean and renewable energy research and implementation?
America is now more concerned about the exhaustion of our natural resources than we have been since the energy crisis of the late 70′s. Many energy companies claim to be “going green” and the citizens are buying hybrid cars and wind power. The federal government under Bush has made little progress, but with the new administration comes a new attitude toward sustainability. After being elected on a platform made largely from an environmental plank, Obama has been busy struggling with the economic state of our country, but his stimulus bil provides funding for energy efficiency and new energy sources. More dramatic changes will be necessary, however, if we are going to help our country escape the oil economy.
